You know what I love about winter?

That you don’t have to stay up until the middle of the night just to see the stars. There’s something I love about the stars, and living in the city, they can often be hard to find, especially in the summer months when it seems like the sun never goes down. But in the winter, the sun sets at like 4:30pm, so while the darkness can make days seem shorter, if you like learning about stars and night photography like I do, you can see the big night sky at like 5:30pm and be warm in your house by 7:00pm.

And for the next couple of weeks, Pursuit Banff Jasper Collection‏ (formerly Brewster Canada) is offering visitors a unique experience to get so close to the stars, you’ll swear you can touch them. Weekly on Fridays from until Jan 5, 2018th, the Banff Gondola is staying open late until 8:00 PM to watch the winter sky above Banff come alive with stars and maybe even Northern Lights.

Join astronomers from the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada on the rooftop deck for an amazing stargazing adventure. You’ll also have the chance to learn through interactive exhibits and games for kids and young-at heart adults (that’s always referring to me.)

And if you’re worried about that cold winter air, guests are welcome to warm up after with a night cap from Sky Bistro’s signature after dinner taste and drink menu. Over the past couple of years, the Banff Gondola area has undergone a beautiful renovation and if you’re looking for a completely unforgettable winter retreat over the holidays, I can’t imagine it getting much more magical than stargazing high above one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

The Banff Gondola is also having an Alberta Locals deal from now until February 28th. Alberta Residents save 25% off of Banff Gondola Admission – when purchasing tickets online through https://www.banffjaspercollection.com/attractions-sightseeing/banffgondola/hours-rates/ , there will be a ‘Banff Gondola Alberta Locals Admission’ option when selecting the ticket type.
