For as long as I can remember, bottle drives have been a great way to help raise money for local charities, events or any number of non-profit causes. But as anyone who’s had to organize one knows, they can be a lot of work! So what if there was help to make those fundraisers easier and more coordinated than ever?

That’s the idea behind Alberta Depot’s Great Prairie Bottle Harvest, which for three consecutive Saturdays in October will be helping organizers “harvest” beverage containers like never before. All you have to do is register and commit to raising funds for a person or family in need, your community, organization, club, team, or anything else this Fall!

Organizers will have three Harvest dates to choose from to hold their event:

October 13th, 2018
October 20th, 2018
October 27th, 2018

As you know, collecting & recycling beverage containers is an efficient way to collect some pretty decent money for your cause. There are two different deposit amounts: beverage containers designed to hold 1 litre or less equal a 10 cent deposit per container and beverage containers designed to hold over 1 litre equal a 25 cent deposit per container.

If you and your fellow volunteers spend the day collecting beverage containers, you can put a big dent towards whatever your group is fundraising for!

What I love about this campaign is that Alberta Depot is really going the extra mile to make sure your fundraiser is successful as possible. After your register what you’d like to raise money for, you’ll get access to a variety of graphics and other content to send out to community members. This includes digital promotional materials that you can use on your community association or league website, social media pages and newsletters.

On top of that, they’ll send you printed and customizable posters and door hangers that you can put up in and around your neighbourhood. All of these things could end up costing your fundraiser money, but the Alberta Depot will provide them for free!

If you know of an individual or family in need, event, project, team or club that could benefit from a fantastic community event like the Great Prairie Bottle Harvest, make sure you get them to register!
