Today was an especially busy Friday!
This morning, Metro published my first column of 2013. It’s hard to belief that my weekly column will be three years old this year! And people said I couldn’t be in a long-term relationship.
This week’s column was about being broke. And really, who isn’t broke after the holidays. If there’s one thing I’ve always been, it’s being creative when it comes to having fun without spending a lot of money, which is like having a super power during the months of January and February.
So I decided to share some of my creative ways of having fun during those cold long weekends, without spending a penny. Technically, I used Calgary examples, but really they are applicable to anywhere.
On Friday afternoon, I dropped by the CBC studios to talk about Kim Kardashian, who just happened to be hosting a party at Cowboys. Host Doug Dirks and I chatted about why the Kardashian clan is so popular and what kind of person would pay $50 just to be in the same room as Kim. Turns out, there’s a lot of them. It was a lot of fun to do the Homestretch, because I’m so used to doing the morning show.
After CBC, I did another radio piece with News 660 about the busy upcoming weekend in Calgary. They asked me to do up a list of my favourite events happening in the city and as it turns out, it wasn’t easy, since there is so much happening! Why can’t anyone take break after Christmas?
