Whoa. 22 Minutes upped their game last night when they surprised Bill Cosby, who was doing a show in Kitchener.  The show was already controversial because of all the allegations the comedian is currently facing about drugging and raping women. But after the show, 22 correspondent Abdul Butt confronted Cosby, saying “Hey, Bill, congratulations on your first show in 2015! Way to start the year off with a bang! Hope it was consensual this time, though, Billy.”

While it was suuuuper awkward, I’m glad that 22 Minutes went for the jugular. It’d be great to see a show like 22 Minutes push more buttons. I occasionally watch a few episodes here and there and while they land some good zingers, maybe if they decided to go the more controversial route, the writers and comedians would be allowed to be as biting as this clip is. At this point, they’re pretty much the only satirical show on Canadian networks, so why not go into overdrive and really become the hybrid of SNL and The Daily Show I know they can be?
