Sled Island Music & Arts Festival has officially kicked off, marking the start of a hot music-filled summer here in Calgary. While Sled Island is certainly known for their incredible lineups of world-renown musical acts at awesome venues all over the city (including the main stage at Canada Olympic Plaza), there is also some seriously weird and fun (and plenty of free!) events going on all over the city in partnership with the festival. Expect to experience everything from riding your bike as you participate in a scavenger hunt to eating at a pig roast to cheering on your favourite local roller derby team. Sled Island is all about the music but there is so much more!
