This morning Canadian artists all across the country sat by their phones, hoping, praying and wishing that they’d hear the news that every musician wants to hear: They’ve been nominated for a Junos.
Yup, this morning, the nominations for this year’s Juno awards were announced and well, there weren’t a ton of surprises, but there were a lot of big names announced as both nominees and performers! Arcade Fire leads the pack with six nominations, Michael Bublé and Serena Ryder both have five and with four nominations are Céline Dion, Drake, Hedley and Tegan and Sara.
In the coming weeks, I’ll definitely be breaking down the nominations, mostly talking about how I don’t really think Robin Thick should be nominated, but I’ll save that for another post.
Today, I wanted to start with talking about the Juno award for Video of the Year. I love this category because it gets more and more creative every year and it doesn’t necessarily go to the people with the biggest budget, this year’s nominees all made really bold and creative choices and I love them for it!
Take a look at the nominees. Who do you think deserves to win?
The Junos take over Winnipeg on March 30th!
