Lost finale: Where were you?

9/11
Princess Diana dying.
2010 Gold Medal game.

These are all things we remember where we were when they happened.  On Sunday night, the series finale of LOST got added to the list.  If you just rolled your eyes, stop reading, this post is not for you.

I remember where I was the first time I saw LOST.
I remember where I was when it got boring and I almost stopped watching.
And I remember where I was when I was glad that I didn’t.

LOST has always been a great show for me.  I was never one of those LOST geeks who read into every line and every plot twist. And no, I didn’t sign up for LOST university.  I don’t even own the DVDs. Plus, I would regularly forget about even major details.  But I did love the show, afterall I never missed an episode. For me, I was just happy to be along for the ride.  I never really knew what was going on, but for some reason, I never seemed to mind.

So where was I for the Lost finale?

I spent my long-weekend in Vancouver.  We ate at some great restaurants, explored the Sunshine Coast and of course, it rained. It rained a lot.   But the whole weekend, the series finale of the Ocianic 6 was always on my mind, mostly because I happened to be spending the weekend in an apartment with no television.  After calling every person I knew in Vancouver, I still could not get my hands a television set with cable.  So I did what any TV fan would do:za  I rented the cheapest (and sketchiest) hotel room I could find, ate Mcdonalds,  drank a bad bottle of wine out of a paper cup and enjoyed the thrilling two and a half hour roller coaster.

Sure I still have no idea what the hell the whole show was about, but it was important and I know that I will definitely never forget where I was.

Now how to get that hotel’s smell off of me.

Lost: SOLVED!

After six years and with only one episode left: I think I finally figured out LOST.

Wearing your ‘Lost’ on your sleeve

Just a reminder that LOST is back on tonight.

There are only four episodes left.  Can you believe it?  I get the chills just thinking about never seeing the Oceanic Six again.  Luckily,  I have something to comfort me.  For the past few weeks, I’ve been wearing my Polar Bear Liquor shirt. During the final season’s episodes, it helps protect me from the heartache that comes with my favorite show ending.

It was designed by graphic designer Ian Leino and if you want one of your own, head on over to his website.  His store features a ton of Lost-inspired products like Dharma beer labels and some cooling mugs. Plus, you are going to want to check it out today, because he always does great  t-shirt  give-a-ways every Tuesday!

Degrassi star found on 'Lost'

>

Did you happen to watch last night’s Lost? Because if you did, you witnessed a little piece of Canadian nostalgia.
Remember BLT from Degrassi? He was on the first five seasons of the original series and is probably most memorable for dating a girl whose date was a big, fat racist.
BLT was played by Canadian actor Dayo Ade, who just happened to appear in the last two episodes of Lost as Justin, the new Other who was shot by super-duper crazy Claire!
Unfortunately, after last night’s show, it would seem difficult for him to come back for any more episodes, but still! One of our own Degrassi kids made it on to LOST for two episodes!
Not to shabby!
Your move Zit Remedy.

Lost has an end date!

>
I swear, I am trying to not write about LOST in every single post.

I just wanted to quickly say that if you have plans on May 23rd, cancel them or fake your own death, whichever is easiest.
Producers have just announced that this will be the date of the series finale of Lost.
I believe that is also Victoria Day weekend, so sorry campgrounds, I shall not be vomiting on your premises this year.

First Four Minutes of Lost!!!!

>
You know how every city has a sports bar? Wouldn’t it be awesome if they had a LOST bar? You know, a place where you can get together every Tuesday and watch the show with other fans. This could be helpful because I always tend to miss things, but if I was watching with other Lost geeks, then they could explain everything to me.

We are now only three sleeps away from the premiere of the final season of Lost. The show has pretty much the premiere under lock and key and I haven’t even heard one spoiler of the first episode.
But now they’ve released the first four minutes of the premiere. Watch if you want, but just as an FYI, the first two minutes is a scene that we’ve already scene. After that, it looks like EVERYTHING changes.
Click here to watch the first four minutes!
Three Sleeps! Three Sleeps! Three Sleeps!

Boone, Boone, Pow!

>

Dear Boone,
Why are you on the cover of the new Entertainment Weekly?
Aren’t you dead?
It would be swell if you weren’t.
Unless you came back as a Vampire. I would not like that.
See you next Tuesday?
Mike

Confession: Contests

>

Dearest Mike’s Bloggity Blog readers,
It has been a while since I confessed something, so here is a little one for you:
I’m super greedy and never tell you about contests I enter. You’re supposed to be surprised. Why aren’t you surprised? Anyway, why do I do this? I just told you, I’m selfish and I want to win everything.
But I found this new contest on CTV.ca and I had a moment of enlightment. Since my old way of trying to win contests has so far been a giant fail, I’ve decided to go about it a different way. If I tell everyone about them, then maybe karma will reward me by letting me when the prize. Sadly, this is the best idea I’ve ever had. It’s hard knowing I’ve already peaked.
So I’m going to tell you about this cool new prize. BUT you have to promise to enter the contest. I’m hoping the CTV gods will appreciate the extra ballots. I’m not a religious person, but for this prize I will pretend to be.
This is the prize:

Stop drooling.

What you are looking at a LOST Limited Edition Collectors Set, A DVD Box set of the first four seasons of “LOST” and a framed print signed by the cast.

I said stop drooling.

I’m not sure why they decided not to include the 5th season, but I’m not going to complain!

Click here to enter, but know that I’m hoping you don’t win.

UPDATE: I was wrong, it does include season 5. My bad. Still, you can’t win it. Thanks ClickRaise.

NEW: For the past few weeks we have been treated to a ton of season six LOST promos. But none of them have had any new footage…until now! Ladies and Gentlemen here is the newest LOST promo with ONE.SINGLE. new frame.

Hey, it’s something.

Lost Lasagna!

>Another day, another LOST recap/parody video.

This time it comes to us compliments of the Antonucci family. They are a nice Italian family living in Long Island. It’s like Jersey Shores but in a living room and without the probable STDs. Okay, it just takes place in a living room.
Watch the video and see some of your favourite scenes from LOST including Locke learning he can walk, Walt being taking by the others, opening the hatch and Henry Gale being released.

Intervention: LOST edition!

>
How many days is it until LOST comes back? In the past couple of days I’ve become obsessed. And has we get closer and closer to the premiere of the last season on February 2nd, it has become easier and easier to get my Dharma fix.

Here’s how I’ve been doing it:
  • SPACE network is re-airing the fifth (and AMAZING) season of LOST, four nights a week. Upon the second viewing, I still have no idea what the hell happened.
  • There is tons of free LOST stuff on Itunes right now. You can get the entire 2-hour pilot, season recaps for each season and a complete 1-5 season season re-cap.
  • Then if you are really hungry for LOST, you can find out how each of your favourite characters would make a sandwich. Trust me, it is funnier than it sounds.
  • Hurley has been pretty busy during the break, check out the Mr. Cluck’s commercial he filmed during his down time!
  • CTV.ca also has quick cuts of every single episode from seasons 1-5. These are like mini-episodes and they have been completely re-cut and re-scored! CTV.ca also plays episodes of the Little Hobo. Just in case you were curious.
  • But by far my most favourite LOST video has to be the complete series recap in eight minutes and fifteen seconds. It’s sounds strange to say, but this recap actually clears up a lot of the stuff LOST’s writers threw at us over the past five years! Sadly it has no mention of Rose or Bernard, two of my favorites.
