Hot Lesbo Fredericton action on Being Erica! Sweet!

>Okay, I don’t know how many times I have to tell you to watch Being Erica but if you haven’t done it yet, you MUST MUST MUST do it tonight!!!!

Not only is the show still one of the most enjoyable shows on TV, it’s also still Canadian and still on the air…which in itself is a rarity. (RIP Street Cents)

Tonight’s episode has me really excited because of it’s pretty cool guest star: Anna Silk!

Mike’s Bloggity Blog readers will know that I’ve been rooting for Anna Silk for years because we are both from Fredericton and her mom, Ilkay Silk, was one of those amazing professors that defined my years as a University student.

Check out Anna’s most famous work here!

If that is not enough reason to watch Being Erica tonight on CBC, how about if I tell you that there is probably going to be some hot lesbo action in this episode. There! Does that make you happy?

You are all a bunch of perverts and I love it!

And once you are done falling in love with Being Erica and if you are sick of hot lesbo action, make sure you stick around for a new episode of The Week The Women Went. I’m not sure where they went, but I assume it was to go make out with Erica!

ps. Erin Karpluk, are you out there? Have you seen Mike’s Bloggity Blog? It loves you, hot lesbo action and all!

Give Erica a chance!

Are you still watching Being Erica?
You aren’t?
Well why the hell not?

The show is still one of the most enjoyable shows out there and the fact that the show is Canadian just makes it that much sweeter.

CBC moved the struggling drama out of it’s killer monday timeslot (Two and A Half Men, 24, The Bachelor) last week to it’s new Wednesday home. That means that today and tomorrow you have to go and catch up on Being Erica online and settle in for a great hour of television on Wednesday night.

And no I’m not just writing this because I want series star Erin Karpluk to be my real friend so very desperately. And I don’t just mean on Facebook, I want to be like her real friend. Like call eachother and talk about our days or dates. Kinda like Macauly Culkin and that weird girl in My Girl.

No, I’m writing this because this show is really fun and it deserves a chance. Just like me and Erin.

Even more Erica!

>A couple of days ago I mentioned one of CBC’s new shows called Being Erica.  Since then I’ve gotten tons of emails and texts from people loved the show as much as I did!

The show did pretty good in the ratings, especially since it was directly against the gold medal match of the World Juniors, which itself scored the highest ratings EVER for TSN.  Which I just found out does not stand for the The Shopping Network.

Anyway, if you by chance missed the first episode of Being Erica, you are in luck, because all this week you can download it on Itunes for FREE!!
Yeah you read that right, FREE.  How often does that happen.
Now if I could just convince Erin Karpluk (who plays erica) to add me to Facebook…..

New Show: Being Erica!

>

This past weekend I did something I’ve never done before.

No, I didn’t get a tattoo.
Cooked a meal? Nope not that either.
Gave up my dream of Mike Morrison reality show? Not a chance.
It was none of those, instead I watched two CBC shows. And not just a couple of minutes of them. The entire show. From start to finish. Being Erica and Wild Roses both premiere this week and I was able to get to catch their pilot episodes early.
Being Erica premieres tonight and Wild Roses (filmed in Alberta) debuts on Tuesday. Check back Tuesday for my thoughts of Wild Roses but for now let’s talk about Being Erica.
Being Erica stars canadian actress Erin Karpluk as a quirky Liz Lemon-esque 32-year old woman named Erica Strange who has lost her way. She is perpetually single and stares longingly at her ex-boyfriend’s facebook page at her dead end job. Needless to say she is an all too familiar rut.
Within the first couple of minutes of the show, her life is turned upside down when she is given the chance to do something we would all kill to do. After a mysterious therapist gets her to write down all the things she wishes she can change about her life, she throw back in time to right what she considers her wrongs.
The first episode takes her back to her high school days to fix an embarrassing situation at the big dance. Erica is in the body of her 16 year old self but has the thoughts and panic of her 32 year old self.
The show is a funny (yes, I said funny) spin on shows that we’ve seen before (My Name is Earl, Twice in a Lifetime, Joan of Arcadia). But this one is different because Karpluck is upsettingly charming. So much so that you cheer for her almost instantly. And I’m not just saying this being Erica Strange has her own hilarious blog!
One of my favorite moments of the show was when Erica began to go through her early 90′s stuffed closet and try to find something to wear to the big dance. Her expressions are hilarious and you can’t help but wonder what clothes we would struggle to wear if given the same experience.
The show also leaves us with lots of questions mostly: What happened to her dead brother? And how will these changes effect her adult life?
After watching the first episode, I added Being Erica to my Season Pass list on my Tivo. This is only the third Canadian show to have that honor. The two others are Degrassi and The Aftershow (they’ll call some day right?)! Future episodes will see Erica joining an old secret society, reliving the loss of her viriginity, standing up to an old professor and returning to her Bar Mitzvah. Oh vey indeed.
Being Erica premieres on CBC tonight at 9pm.
