The results of the Canadian Blog Awards were announced on Saturday and I’m so excited…and a little confused, to announce that I won an award for Best Culture and Literature Blog! I’m not saying that I’m confused to act like I’m being humble, I’m confused because Bloggity doesn’t really seem like a Culture and Literature blog to me, but hey, I guess it’s what the people want, so I will gladly accept it and say thank you very, very much!
The entire awards are volunteer run and all the voting is done by anyone that has a computer, that puts the decision process completely out of my hands, so I appreciate every single person that took even a second to send a vote my way. It’s really incredible.
If you’re looking for new blogs to discover, now is the time. There are a ton of amazing blogs that were nominated and eventually won some pretty cool awards and now they are just waiting for you to read them.
Take a look at all the winners and nominees here.
So, how did I celebrate? Well, I enjoyed my favourite snack (room temperature milk and popcorn) and watched The Lord of The Rings: The Return of The King, of course! I mean what were you really expecting? After all, I am full of culture now.
Thanks again everyone!
Well holy kamoly would you look at that, I’ve made it to the final round of the always competitive Canadian Blog Awards!
The results of the final round were just announced and I’m so stoked that Mike’s Bloggity Blog has made it to the final round of the Best Culture and Literature Blog category. (Seems like a weird category to be in, but I’m totally not arguing with it!) Seriously, I’m so stoked.
If you wanted to take a moment to vote, that’d be appreciated. There’s no registration, just one click. They don’t even do daily voting, so it really is a two second commitment, which, when you think about it, is the best kind of commitment. Voting is open until January 20th, so you still have some time, but why wait?

I know it sounds cheesy, but I actually love these awards because so many people are nominated. It’s really the best way to find out about so many different kinds of Canadian blogs. The awards have been volunteer run for a few years now and the amount of time they devote to it, is pretty crazy, but as I mentioned, the best thing I get out of it, is the amount of cool blogs that I end up adding to my Google Reader.
Congrats to all the nominees!
….not me.
But that’s totally okay. Earlier this week the winners of the Canadian Blog Awards were announced and it was so awesome to see so many terrific blogs get some recognition. You know I’ve been blogging for a long time when I already feel old at these awards.
While Mike’s Bloggity Blog didn’t technically win any awards, we did pick up some pretty sweet consolation prizes. In the Overall Blog award, we got ranked number three! Number three in all of Canada? Yeah, I’ll take that.
The blog was also nominated for Best Pop Culture Blog and we came in second. Seriously, not complaining at all. I know it sounds cheesy but it is pretty cool that people took time out of playing Farmville to put in some votes for the blog. It is definitely appreciated!
Take a look at all the winners! There really are some wonderful Canadian Blogs out there. Thanks to the organizers for putting together another fantastic competition!

Mondays usually suck.
But I think today is the exception. The Canadian Blog Awards were announced over the weekend and I’m so shocked and happy to announce that Mike’s Bloggity Blog has won FOUR Canadian Blog Awards. I haven’t been this happy since I won the sandcastle building contest when I was 10! (I still have the trophy prominently displayed in my house.)
The four awards the blog won are:
Best Popular Culture
Best Blog Post
Best Humour Blog
and…..
BEST OVERALL BLOG!!!!
Wow. I can’t thank everyone that voted enough. I feel like the Kalan Porter of blogs. Except for the whole talented singer and curly hair thing!
Seriously, very very cool. Thank you!!!!
Thanks again everyone. I love writing mike’s bloggity blog and I am glad that you all love it too!

As many of you know, I’m in the depths of fighting for my dignity by winning The Canadian Blog Awards. I’m not convinced that winning will save my dignity, but it certainly can’t hurt it. And that’s gotta be worth something….right?
Mike’s Bloggity Blog has made it to the final round of the blog awards in four rounds!
- Best Overall Blog
- Best Blog Post
- Best Popular Culture
- Best Humor!
Four nominations!!! Wow! It’s like I’m Two And A Half Men, except I shouldn’t feel bad about them!
This is the final round, so it’s crucial that you vote. I tried to think of some other examples of things that are equally as crucial and this is what I came up with:
- Ensuring that my Christmas gifts are valued at over $50.
- Finishing Forest Gump 2.
- Developing a secret handshake with Jack Layton. The crucial part is the handshake last no shorter than two-minutes.
Have I made my point? I feel like I have.
So please go vote. The last day to vote is this Friday, so please vote!

The nominees for the first round of the Canadian Blog Awards were announced and Mike’s Bloggity Blog was nominated for a total offour awards!
Suck on that high school guidance counsellor.
The four categories that I got noms in include:
Best Overall Blog
Best PopCulture Blog
Best Blog Post
Best Humor Blog
Wow. That is just simply fantastic. Thank you so much!
So now what do you now?
You gotta
vote! I wish I was above begging, but we both know better. Pretty please?
vote. It’s a little different this year, because as opposed to just voting you can rank all the blogs. Hopefully you’ll rank Mike’s Bloggity Blog #1. You don’t have to rank all the blogs, but why not spread the love. But if you just want to rank just one (ahem), you just go on ahead and do that! You can rank as little or as many as you desire.
I really like how fair the awards are because you can only vote once, per round, per computer. Super fair and really cuts down on the annoying campaigns.
Voting closes on December 11th, so don’t delay!
