On tonight: Being Erica!

>Just your weekly reminder to watch Being Erica on CBC tonight.

Last week’s episode was one of the shows funniest, yet it’s ratings were one of it’s lowest. I don’t know what else everyone is watching, but it ain’t Being Erica. Apparently people haven’t learned their Arrested Development-lesson. Watch good tv, and it stays on. Watch bad tv, and we end up with three different CSIs and two hours of The Biggest Loser. Your choice.

Glee comes to Global

>
Monday’s suck.

Make it a little better by putting a little GLEE in it.
Over the couple of weeks, you are going to become sick without how much I talk about GLEE, the new show on Fox and Global TV.  The networks aired a preview episode back in May, but now we are only a few weeks away from the full-fledged series.
If you didn’t watch it, or like me, want to watch it over and over, you can now watch it on Global’s website.
This is such a fun and easy show to watch.  Plus can we talk about the musical numbers?  AMAZING.  The show premieres on Sept.9.  Watch it or you’ll be missing out on another great show that will probably be gone far too soon.  ***cough***arrested development, veronica mars***cough***
In the meantime, listen to this awesome version of Don’t Stop Believin’ sung by the Glee class.

Folk Fest=1 sleep

>
Hey, it’s me.

Still on vacation. Crazy eh? I feel like I’m an MLA or something with so much time off.

The vacation is going great, but the one downfall is that I’m going to miss the Calgary Folk Festival, so I wanted to remind everyone about it so you can all rub it in my face how awesome it was.

Even if you don’t live in Calgary, the line up is certainly worth whatever means of transpertation you have to use to get there? Plane? Bike? Car-jacking? All of these are reasonable options considering the line up includes: The Decemberists, Sarah Harmer, Loreena McKennitt, The Sojourners, Justin Rutledge, Gomez, Steven Page and Arrested Development!

The festival is quickly selling out, the Saturday and the four-day passes are gone like my hair!

Seriously jealous of everyone going.

Now excuse me, as I eat another McLobster.

Push on this!

>

Pushing Daisies Season 2 is finally on DVD today!

Let’s all take a moment to mourn the most creative show on TV.

Buy this TV show.
Love this TV show.
And then be mad at yourself for not watching it when it was on.

Did Arrested Development teach you nothing?

CANADA DAY!

>Happy Canada Day! Happy Canada Day! Happy Canada Day! Happy Canada Day! Happy Canada Day! Happy Canada Day! Happy Canada Day! Happy Canada Day! Happy Canada Day! Happy Canada Day! Happy Canada Day! Happy Canada Day! Happy Canada Day! Happy Canada Day! Happy Canada Day! Happy Canada Day! Happy Canada Day! Happy Canada Day! Happy Canada Day! Happy Canada Day! Happy Canada Day! Happy Canada Day! Happy Canada Day!

Sweet lord I love this country. Almost as much as I love Arrested Development…almost.

Check out Carly Rae Jepsen’s video for her single Bucket. Perfect song for such a beautiful Canada Day!

Be Safe!

Fall TV: Good/Bad/Ugly

>Anyone that loves TV as much as I do, knows that this week is upfront week for the networks. What that means is that everyone is announcing what shows are getting renewed, which ones are getting cancelled and which ones are on their way.

There is a lot of information out there to digest, so I though I would make it easier for you.
This news makes me….
hopeful.
Better Off Ted was miraculously renewed.  Anyone looking for an Arrested Development replacement, look no further than this funnier than you know it sitcom on ABC.
sad.
Samantha Who? was surprisingly canceled.  ABC treated it like it was Rihanna in it’s second season, but with such a stellar cast.  It deserved much better.
forgetful.
My Name Is Earl was laid off.  I forget this show was on.  I feel like it was my fault.
elated.
After what seems like 25 years, According to Jim was finally shot in the throat and punched in the face.  By that I mean cancelled.  It is good day.
guilty.
I joined the Privileged train too late and I think I missed a great show.  Especially since it was cancelled and won’t see a second season.
happier than happy.
I know I”m not the target demo for New Adventures of Old Christine, but I’m it’s biggest fan.  You have no idea how funny this show is.  You should, you really should.
confused.
Not that Heroes was obviously renewed, but that people still watch this once stellar show.
nostalgic.
Watching the clip (below) from Courtney Cox-Arquette‘s new comedy, Cougartown, reminded me how good she was as Monica on FRIENDS.  I’m happy to have her back in my life.

Folk You!

>
The Calgary Folk Fest line up was just announced this morning and it’s looking pretty sweet!

And seeing how for the past couple of years I misunderstood what folk music was, I am now more excited than ever!
Some of the acts announced today include:
The Decemberists
Lorenna McKennitt
Pacifika
Arrested Development
Apostle of Hustle
Gomez
Glen Campbell
SArah Harmer
Iron and Wine
Justin Rutledge
The Sojourners
Chad Van Gaalen
Early Bird Passes (4-days!) go on sale on Thursday for $130, then go up to $160 on June 22nd.
For more folk fest info, check out their website!
In preparation, I’ve decided to not shower and only make CBC Radio 3 references, just to fit in.
example:  “That John Locke is just like Craig Norris.”

A Fox Apology

>FOX finally apologized for canceling Arrested Development this week.

But do you care?

Sit Down, Shut Up premieres tonight.
I will watch it once and then laugh when Fox cancels it.

Seriously, why do quirky shows keep going to this network? Have they ever kept any of them?

Even more twitter!

>Twitter is taking over!
And guess who is one of the newest people to join…..

Erica Strange!

That’s right everyone’s favorite 30 year old neurotic time traveler from CBC’s cult hit Being Erica. (Yes, i’ve officially declared it a cult hit since none of you seem to want to start watching it! Did you learn nothing from Arrested Development!)

This is great news for Being Erica fans who don’t want to wait for 7 days to get our Erica fix. Plus, now that I’m on Twitter, I’m one step closer to befriending Erica or her portrayer Erin Karpluk!

"Arrested" arrested?

>We are sooooooooooo close to the Arrested Development movie becoming a reality.

There is only one cast memeber who hasn’t sign on yet. Guesses?
Yup, it’s Canadian Michael Cera.

Now conspirators are probably thinking that he is being greedy and waiting for more money or thinks he is beyond the show that launched him into fame. But Cera definitely has the busiest schedule of any of the Bluthes, so I’m guessing they are just sorting it all out.

Yes, I’m being optimistic. After the loss of Pushing Daisies I have very little to live for.

Arrested Development needs it’s George Michael.
Sign that contract Cera.
Do it for me.
