Arrested Development coming back to Canada!
Dec 10, 2012
Phew. Canadian fans of one of TV’s best sitcoms ever can finally breath a sigh of relief.
The new season of Arrested Development, which is being produced by Netflix, will in fact be available to Canadians on Netflix Canada! The Canadian streaming service announced today that we will soon be reunited George Michael (Michael Cera), his father George Bluth Sr. (Jeffrey Tambor), his mother Lucille (Jessica Walter), his brothers George Oscar Bluth II (Will Arnett), Buster Bluth (Tony Hale) and sister Lindsay Funke (Portia de Rossi), and Lindsay’s husband Tobias (David Cross) and their daughter Maeby (Alia Shawkat)! There is no premiere date yet, but the Bluth family will be returning to our screens sometime in during the spring of 2013, with hopefully a movie to follow.
Last year, when Netflix made the announcement that they had successfully negotiated a fourth season of the show that went off the air in 2006, fans were initially told that the show would only stream on Netflix USA. Obviously this caused a lot of stress for we Canadians that love the Bluth family almost as much, if not more, than our actual families. But now, we can finally relaxing knowing that the show will premiere on Netflix Canada at the same time as its American counterpart.
This is seriously the best news I could have asked for on this chilly Monday. I loved Arrested Development from the day it premiered, and I’m so glad that I won’t have to wait, just because I was born with an east coast accent, you know?
If you haven’t seen AD before, no worries, while you are missing out, you can still watch the show’s first three seasons that are already streaming on Netflix Canada!
Welcome back Bluth family, we missed you.
