Watch: Arcade Fire’s epic “Reflektor”

Sep 14, 2013

Are you sitting down? Are you comfy? This is going to take a while. After releasing The Suburbs in 2010, Montreal’s Arcade Fire are finally back with a new song…and it’s epic. By epic, I mean it’s more than seven minutes long, putting it up there with other favourite saga songs like Oasis‘ Champagne Supernova and Justin Timberlake‘s Mirrors. (How’s that for variety?)

“Reflektor” is both the name of the band’s first single and their upcoming double album, which will be released on October 29th, a day after they are expected to play Saturday Night Live! Arcade Fire’s Facebook page also implies that there will be a big upcoming tour in the coming months, which makes sense. The band has been pretty quiet in 2013 and really, since they won Album of the Year at the 2011 Grammys and consequently inspired the hilarious blog Who Is Arcade Fire?

What do you think of the song?  Did you make it through the entire seven minutes?
