Canada Sings! Meet the new cast and judge! February 13th, 2012
It’s a big day for Canada Sings! Global TV’s highly-rated singing competition starts production on it’s second season!
The show that transforms ordinary workmates into glee club performers has lost a judge, Simple Plan’s Pierre Bouvier and welcomes a new one, music video vixen, Laurieann Gibson. It’s quite a big get for the show, as Gibson has directed and choreographed videos for Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Mary J. Blige, Beyoncé, Keri Hilson and Lady Gaga. Original judges Jann Arden and Vanilla Ice are set to return.
The teams for the second season have also been announced. Each of these groups will be playing for big money for their charity and in the meantime, belting out a song or two.

I like the diversity in the types of teams, but it seems silly to call the show Canada Sings when most of the teams are from the GTA. I get that means the production of the show is cheaper, because they aren’t having to put up all the teams for the length of the series, but calling a show Canada Sings, when really they just mean Ontario, is a little frustrating.
Look for Canada Sings to return sometime this summer.
