Gift a Day Giveaway #2: TomTom GO 2505 December 5th, 2011
For many Canadians, Christmas can mean one thing: Driving. Whether you’re driving to the mall to find the perfect gift, or maybe your parents moved to the suburbs and you don’t exactly know where they live, it seems that during the month of December, we spend more time in our car than with our families! If you’re sick of wasting your time, lost in a world of traffic jams and new streets, then today’s second gift of Gift A Day giveaway is most likely for you!
I’m giving away a fully connected TomTom GO 2505. It has a extra-slim design with sleek 5.0″ glass touchscreen, premium Maps of US, Canada and Mexico, comes with Lifetime Traffic and Map Updates and Bluetooth handsfree calling. In all, it’s worth $269.95!
If you don’t have a GPS, then you must enter this contest. They are sorta like cell phones, you don’t know how much need you one, until you get to use it. Actually, that being said, I don’t have one, but I’ve been known to rent a car every now and then, just to get a GPS on days when I know where I’m driving! Yes, that’s a true story.
If you want to win the Tom Tom GO 2505 then you gotta enter!
Two ways to enter, each one will get you an entry to a maximum of two entries per gift! All entries must be received by Monday, December 19th at Noon/MST
1) Leave a comment telling me what city is the most confusing for you to drive in and why.
2) Second entry can be done on twitter. Tweet: “I’m going to win the Tom Tom GO 2505 from @TomTomCanada and @mikesbloggity. http://ow.ly/7PR4i #bloggitygifts”
Good luck!
Missed a Day? You can still enter until December 19th at Noon/MST!

i would love to win this for my mom for xmas! Not only am i too broke to buy her a proper gift but she is always freaking out when she has to drive down to toronto visit! Awesome giveaway!
Anywhere in Calgary!! All the districts with similar names are so confusing!!
I get lost in Calgary still (particularly outside of downtown)! I’d love a GPS so I don’t get lost in the ‘burbs
REGINA. ive been in a few diff citys. butt qhen 2 streets approach each other. why do u have to make a left an a right just to make a left hand turn??? who was drinkin that night of planning. #rcmp campus/musem cant remember the street name. but its close to grandmas house…
I would have to say Surrey BC! But it wouldn’t be so confusing if I won
Edmonton, since it’s a city I have only visited a few times!
Driving in Toronto is really confusing because it is so big.
I the major roads now, but at first Victoria was crazy for me. Any city that has names instead of numbers seems sort of cruel. Theres nor rhyme or reason until you`ve memorized the names of the streets.
I can still get lost in Fredericton
I found Montreal to be extremely confusing. All the highways and having to get on and off and be in the right spot at the right time or you will end up going much further than you want. I live in winnipeg and driving here is a breeze compared to that

Toronto – you need to know if you’re going west or east to get oriented
https://twitter.com/#!/sharonnelt/status/144042899548536833
Vancouver without a doubt. Guess I need to spend more time there…
Calgary! The signs are often right at the exit. I need more warning!
Calgary….thus why we all need google maps to help us all! Haha
Hamilton, hands down. A 10 minute errand will take you an hour, as you negotiate all the one-way streets — what a waste of gas!
I get lost in Toronto (sometimes) and definitely Montreal. They are so busy and when I’m not used to the city I kinda freak out where I’m supposed to be turning. Too much traffic.
Thanks for the contest. I tweeted here: http://twitter.com/#!/snowdropdreams/status/144065762552840193
There is a part of Etobicoke that I always get lost in. It is a maze!
I find Cambridge, Ontario confusing. I just can’t get the big picture of where everything is. And highway 24 is so busy with signs and stuff it’s tough to find anything.
I think the downtown part of Calgary is the most difficult to navigate, I have lived here all my life and cannot for the life of me figure out those one way streets!
Toronto because it’s a big city and I’m not familiar there.
Driving across the prairies…so I know which areas are the most isolated for beside-the-road bathroom breaks.
Calgary is any of the new areas because every bloody road name sounds the same
I find St-John, NB such a maze with the one way narrow streets. The city is sprawled all over!

I lived in Calgary almost my whole life and it is still the most confusing city to drive in unless you already know where you’re going. With all the one-way, dead-end and change-direction streets – as well as the suburbs with the deceptively similar names – it’s impossible.
Calgary Downtown. I always get lost!

I find Montreal to be the most confusing. The signs on highways are not marked far enough in advance.
I’ve lived in Calgary for 15 years now and I dont find it that bad. Edmonton on the other hand….WOW! What a nightmare. The few times I’ve been there I feel like pulling my hair out.
Paris is easily the most confusing city to drive in, all the traffic circles and tiny streets!

Victoria. One left turn requires successful navigation of three separate roundabouts!
Dont hate me, but Calgary!
45-7th Street SE? Why are there so many numbers in one address, and which way is SE?
Have you ever driven in the suburbs of Calgary? It’s confusing when all the names are the same but end with St, Blvd, Cres, or Ave.

Hamilton because most of the roads are one-way streets.
Surrey it’s all numbers and more numbers, no names!
Montreal – Crazy drivers and lots of one-ways!
Oh my goodness I have to say Vancouver! Or should I say trying to avoid vancouver. Driving from victoria to calgary I somehow ended up in downtown vancouver and couldn’t get away. I was so screwed. It added 2.5 hours onto our trip with 3kids in the back seat. I NEED a GPS!!
Edmonton, because I don’t go there very often but whenever I do I always manage to get lost!

Edmonton – I say this because I need to go there in February for my kids hockey tournament and have not been there in 10 years.
San Fran! So beautiful but all the lights are on the sides, not above you – so you miss them and drive right though intersections if you aren’t careful!
Duesseldorf / Germany.. they somehow forgot to put up signs where you get to when you take this street
Downtown Montreal for me!
Definitely Toronto!

The city that I find the most confusing for me to drive in is Hamilton, since there are so many 1 way streets.
EDMONTON, ALBERTA – How many places do you have a mixture of numbered & named streets that go in circles? Normally streets intersect avenues. In some locations a road intersects a road.. (ie Mill Woods Road & Lakewood Road)
I have to agree that Hamilton is a pretty crazy city to drive in…….you can go quite a distance trying to find a way back to where you started with all the one-way streets!

Driving in Thunder Bay is nuts. Streets have names not numbers and they turn into other names half-way down.
I hate driving in St John NB because the streets are up and down and curvy and it’s usually so foggy you can’t see. (and it smells much of the time)
Seattle
Montreal! Because of construction on the road!

Boston. There are so many one way streets and half of them don’t have street signs!!
San Francisco! Too many short streets and hills!
Does it have to be a city? I am more likely to get lost in my own back of the woods community (Glassville, NB) then any city! City roads, at least generally, have some logic to them… (Not that I haven’t been lost in plenty of cities, plenty of times)

Edmonton! It’s not their fault, but I keep expecting people to reverse in the roundabouts or something like they do in Calgary. The fact that they never manage to mess up driving in their many roundabouts confuses me greatly.
The most confusing city that i’ve ever driven is Auckland, New Zealand. That place does NOT make sense!!

Toronto
Calgary in the burbs. When streets start being named after plants and animals I’m done for
I’d say Toronto! There are so many highway type roads and my parents always got super stressed on vacation there- just for the driving part!
Montreal by a long shot.
Los Angeles because of all the different levels of roads
Montreal! Sooooo hard to get through Montreal even with a GPS…but if I had one, it would be a lot easier!!
Toronto of course! If Denis dropped me off I couldn’t find his parents place again!

Toronto’s pretty confusing but the most confusing city I’ve driven in is New York City. Each street is numbered differently
I find Montreal to be the most confusing! Most other cities are laid out in a grid-like pattern so you can usually work your way back to where you need to be if you get lost. Montreal; however, is….unique!
Definitely Montreal! There is something about winding tiny roads that confuses me.
Montreal. It seems like every time my friend and I visit the city we miss an exit on the way. And, though our destination is always the same, our route varies. We always get where we need to be eventually!
I find Calgary confusing because of the NE, NW, etc. suffixes on the roads.

Any US city is trouble for me… I don’t like how all their main highways only have numeric names (i.e. Interstate 23, Parkway 55, Highway 1043… Confusing!) Give me Deerfoot Trail any day.
i have the most trouble in vancouver but have been known to get lost in other cities too.
I don’t drive outside of Calgary, but I probably would have a problem navigating newer communities inside the city.
Probably Hong Kong because it’s such a small city and crowded too
Toronto!! or anything west of the Martitimes!
I’d say Toronto!
Most confusing city to drive is Calgary. Too many name streets and not enough #s
I would say Montreal for sure. I’m always lost when I’m in Montreal.
