You should watch Cityline today….no seriously. September 8th, 2010
I’m only ever going to allow you to you this once: You are allowed to watch this week’s CityLine.
Deep breath. While it would normally be impossible to watch the show since Marilyn Denis left, I really think you’ll be okay for the next two days.
That is because CityLine has called in Breakfast Television Calgary‘s Jill Belland to host the show, that normally no one outside of Toronto watches. Belland will be covering the next two episodes to help while regular CityLine Host Tracy Moore is on maternity leave.
It’s so good to see a so-called national show finally broadening its horizons beyond Toronto-area designers and panelists. What? Somebody had to say it.
Is Rogers (which owns CityTV) trying to prep Jill for bigger things? I think/hope so!
For the first time in my short life, I actually can’t wait to watch CityLine today!
I’m with you on this one, Mike. I wholeheartedly believe that Jill can not only handle a two-day stint on CityLine, but could also do it five days a week. Jill has it all going on, and her talents, as evidenced by her time spent co-hosting BT Calgary with Andrew Schultz, are highly underrated by the local Calgary station. I too hope that she is slated for bigger – and much better – things.

Well put, Michael. Normally, this is where you’d have to excuse yourself because of your bias where Jill is involved, but since you’re 100% accurate, I’ll let this one slide.
Cityline IS usually not worth watching, and I don’t mind a bit of cooking or even fashion now and then, but it’s so representative of a Toronto-centric mindset that I can’t stomach it. BUT… with the most interesting, entertaining and dazzling TV personality Calgary has to offer acting as host, I’ll be checking out the online video tomorrow and Fri. I won’t have access to a TV tonight or tomorrow evening.
