What a great way to start off the long weekend! The newly released trailer for The Fantastic Mr. Fox is pretty much the most perfect thing since I found my favorite wine for $2 off.
After watching the preview, which features George Clooney and Meryl Streep, I only have one question: What if I’m the grown in the theatre that doesn’t have kid with them? Anyone want to lend me a kid.

Time to Pee!

If you’ve ever gone to the movies with me, you know that I ALWAYS need an aisle seat. That way I know that I can always go pee as soon as I have to.
But at the same time, I HATE going pee during the movies because I always feel like I’m going to miss something. Unless it’s a Nicholas Cage movie, when I KNOW I will never miss something. But I always feel bad leaving because someone worked really hard on that scene and because I have a bladder the size of peanut, I’m probably going to miss the fruits of their labour.
Luckily there is this AWESOME new website that tells you when it is the best time to go pee anytime during the movie. It’s called Run Pee and you can get it online, twitter or on your Iphone. By using the site you can know when is the best time to break the seal and you’ll find out what you’ll be missing.
This is especially useful since I’ll be seeing the two and a half hour Harry Potter this weekend!!

Even more Ally

A while back, I blogged about Ally McBeal-The Complete series coming to DVD. Well FOX just released the office box cover and it just got me that much more excited!
This one is a lot classier, although it looks like instead of using a brush on Calista Flockhart, they just hit with it repeatedly. Although why does Lucy Liu get some cover love but Portia DeRossi doesn’t? She was in more episodes than too. Come to think of Lisa Nicole Carson isn’t on the cover either. Something must be up….
The show that made me want to be a lawyer comes to DVD on October 6th!!!!

I know you’ve all been dying to know who was going to host this year’s Canadian Country Music Awards in Vancouver on September 13th, well it was just announced it will be none other than the sideburned one himself, Jason Priestly!
Some of the nominees include a lot of the same one ones from the last five or so years: Gord Bamford, Paul Brandt, George Canyon, Terri Clark, Jessie Farrell, Tara Oram.
Johnny Reid has a leading six nominations, even though he wasn’t even born in Canada. And yes, these are the only Canadian Music awards that won’t be dominated by Nickelback!
Calgary Radio Wars

Calgary is currently in the midst of a war.
The battle is between three radio stations that claim they are the #1 Hit Music Station. For those of you who don’t know, “hit music station” means: “drive you batty with the same pop-songs over and over again.”
The three radio stations at battle are Vibe 98.5, Energy 101.5 and the new Amp 90.3, which has just been on the air for over a month and says annoying things like “Lady Gaga, exclusively on Amp Radio.“
Since calculating radio ratings is as sketchy taking public transportation anytime past 5pm, I decided to do a little investigating and see how much “hit” music they actually play. Or more appropriately, how much do they overplay “hit” music. I picked the four artists that annoy me the most and checked each radio station play list. Below is the chart of how often each artist was played over the last 24-hour period.
Looking at the resaults you can see that Katy Perry is by far the most annoying and most played artist in Calgary right now.
However, Amp and Energy share the title of most annoying music, by splitting the most played artists right down the line.
Shockingly, Vibe 98.5 isn’t the most annoying radio station. Unless you factor in their morning show, because they easily take the prize for ”Most Annoying Morning Radio Personalities.”
(side note: Why station manager Chad can’t see that Chelsea is the star of the station is still beyond me?! Stop sticking her to afternoon traffic and in bars where she has to pretend it’s busy on a Tuesday night! She is great, plain and simple.)
Kelly Ripa out, Tamara In!

Is there anything more annoying than when somebody wins something that you want. On top of that, because you write an entertainment blog you have to congratulate her and pretend you’re not sickingly jealous?
No? That’s just me? Well shit.
Anyway, I’m pleased to annonce that CTV Weathercaster Tamara Taggart from BC won the chance to Guest Co-Host on LIVE! WITH REGIS AND KELLY and gets to take over for Kelly Ripa for one whole day!
I guess there was a contest and thousands of broadcasters were nominated and Taggart efforts got her the seat next to possibly the oldest man alive. Taggart will have the chance to fill in for Kelly Ripa during the third week of august.
Congrats Tamara, I’m so happy for you.

Toys, toys and more toys
>Did you know that Disney was re-releasing Toy Story 1 and 2 in 3D?
Too many number for ya? Well here are some more. The movies will be released on October 2nd and they’ll be a double feature, which means two for one.
This is all in anticipation for when Toy Story 3 is released next year.
This will be great for all the kiddies that didn’t get to experience the awesomeness of the Toy Story series, although I’m pretty sure the CGI will be pretty lame compared to what they are used to now. After all it was made in 1995! But like skim milk, older is sometimes better.
Watching the trailer for the new 3D releases of the first two movies brought back a lot of memories, most of them consisted of how much I hated the Jessie the Cowgirl character and how I always remembered her as my first memory of a real bitch.
Asides from that, it looks pretty cool.
