Another Friday, another horror movie.
Rumors are swirling that New Line Cinema is planning on making a sequel to the winter hit Friday the 13th. Now normally I would totally be cool with horror movie sequels, I am more excited for Halloween 2 then I am my next pay cheque, but I have a problem with Friday the 13th….
The first one sucked so hard I am having trouble coming up with ways in which this movie was awful. Even for a horror movie it was impossibly stupid. I literally could not imagine how the writers could come up with a more stupid movie.
The following is a list of things stupider than Friday the 13th:
Want an example? During the film the surviving the teens run into a barn. The guy tells the girl to hide. She hides behind a lamp. A lamp people, a LAMP!
Shit, this just ruins my Friday.

In any other country the title of this blog post would be mean something so much cooler. But alas, we are Canadian and we all know that The Barenaked Ladies are from our home and native land.
Well the band dropped some shocking news today when they announced that lead singer Steven Page is leaving the group to pursue solo projects! Of course, given his recent run in with cocaine, it’s probably safe to assume that by solo projects he means getting high in alleys. But that is just a guess!
The band has said that they’ll continue on without him because…well really what other choice does the band have? I think the band should have a reality show to find their newest singer. I know lots of friends in Calgary and the maritimes that got some mad skills!
But the news of Page leaving shouldn’t be taken lightly. It was too long ago that BNL was one of the most original bands out there, they created catchy songs and knew how to throw a great concert.
But if you ask me, this whole thing reaks of a reunion tour just around the corner. Page won’t be gone longer than one week. (get it? see what I did there? clever.)
In memory of the band as we currently know it check out my too favorite BNL songs below! What about you? Do you have some favorite songs? Do you care that Page is leaving? Do you have any drugs he could buy off you?

Dang! Global just got bitch slapped by CTV.
The FOX hit Fringe has made a big decision about it’s second season, even though the network hasn’t even said that the show will have one.
According to THR, the sci-fi series which stars Canadian Joshua Jackson (Pacey!) is moving it’s production from NYC to Vancouver this summer. Citing economic-times, the shows producers decided to announce this even though no second season has been officially announced. Which is obviously good news for Fringe fans. Now that our canadian dollar is back in the toilet, it’s much cheaper to film here again and since ratings for Fringe aren’t huge, it makes sense to move to a cheaper local to convince FOX to keep it on the air just a little bit longer!
This is great news for the vancouver which has been hit hard by the economic slump!
Jobs! Jobs! Jobs!
And no, I still haven’t seen an episode of Fringe. At this point, I’ve decided to wait for the DVDs which will be released for the supposed second season kicks of this fall!
>Have you seen it yet?
